A very interesting opportunity has arisen at a Multinational Investment Bank. They are looking for a Lawyer to join them on a 9 month assignment based in London. This role sits with the Prime Solutions & Financing and Commodities team.
The Prime Solutions & Financing and Commodities team is part of a wider London global markets team of 50 plus lawyers and paralegals. They are responsible for the provision of legal, structuring, regulatory, advisory and transaction execution support in respect of the following: Derivatives Execution & Clearing (DEC) which includes clearing and execution of listed commodity futures, Prime Brokerage (PB) and Financing & Collateral Transformation (FCT) both within the PS&F GBL and OTC / physical commodities within FXLM
-Negotiator to assist with the review and processing of cash and synthetic prime brokerage documents in the context of a large project currently ongoing in the PB business.
-9 month assignment to begin with, with possibility for extension.
-Review of incoming PB client documents under a major project, and/or of diligence reports prepared on the same by external service providers. Synthesis of diligence outputs for use in internal processes.
-Draft and negotiate prime brokerage documentation such as Prime Brokerage Agreements, ISDA Master Agreements/CSAs, Global Swap Agreements and related documentation, and novation agreements in respect of the same.
-Assist senior colleagues in the team on other PB documentation matters
Contribute to functional governance and reporting processes, particularly with regard to prompt escalation of risks.
Skills & experiences
-Lawyer or prime brokerage negotiator
-Experience required in one or more international law firms or investment banks working on equity derivatives, master confirmations and/or other prime brokerage documents
-An outgoing and robust personality who is capable of working both autonomously as well as part of a cross-disciplinary and international team.
-Is independent, thorough and dynamic, with excellent communication and drafting skills.
-Has strong time management and prioritizing skills, is self-sufficient and operates comfortably in an environment with limited secretarial/admin support.
